Transfer News

Marseille have reignited their interest in Mathieu Debuchy – and hope to land him on a free.

The right-back has suffered an injury-affected spell at Arsenal, who paid £12m to land him from Newcastle in July 2014.

Since then he has made just 13 Premier League appearances for the side and was sent out on loan to Bordeaux last season.

He appears no closer to forcing his way back into the first team this term and – at 32 – is desperate to be playing senior football again.

Now, according to L’Equipe, Marseille are hoping to strike a deal to take Debuchy back to France.

Despite him having two years left on his current deal, it has been reported that the Ligue 1 side are hopeful of convincing Arsenal to let him leave for nothing.
